What does swapping case mean?
Inverting case is a precise mirror flip: every lowercase letter becomes uppercase, and every uppercase letter becomes lowercase. “Hello World” becomes “hELLO wORLD”. Numbers, punctuation, and symbols have no case, so they pass through completely unchanged.
The neat property of a swap is that it is its own undo. Convert your text twice and you get the original back, letter for letter. That makes inverse case safe to experiment with — nothing is destroyed, and your original always survives in the input box anyway.
Why flip text case
The everyday use is recovery: if half your text ended up in the wrong case — say a paste came out as “wELCOME tO oUR sITE” — inversion turns it into readable “Welcome To Our Site” in one click. Fixing that by hand means retyping or fighting your editor one word at a time.
Beyond repair work, flipped case is used for puzzle clues, stylized usernames, and visual gags where upside-down capitalization reads as deliberately weird. It also pairs well with the other modes here: invert first, then apply Title Case or Sentence case to land on a clean final form.
